I picked up this old photo magazine in Jimbocho tonight. These old photo mags are exponentially more interesting than anything out today. From the actual photos to the print quality, and most definitely to the ads. Camera ads from the 1970s fit into two categories— One would be “camera surrounded by lenses on a black shiny surface” and the other is something I call ”Pure Awesome”.
This Pentax 6x7 ad is firmly in the “Pure Awesome” column.
If a simple yellow armband labeled PRESS can’t get a guy into press conferences then pairing it with an M65 field jacket ought to do the job.
